SIDE NOTE: It’s also a good idea to ask for proof of auto insurance if the contractor will have any vehicles on your property, as a general liability policy will not cover damage, for instance, should a limb fall on one of the vehicles while it is on your property. The company should also be able to provide you with a copy of their Certificate of Insurance that reflects each of their active policies.
